Percutaneous Gallbladder Biopsy: Indications, Technique and Complications

Gallbladder percutaneous tissue sampling is a not-so-common technique in cytohistological diagnosis of gallbladder or masses, which can be useful cases surgically unresectable disease and unfeasible endoscopic assessment to address the most adequate chemotherapy course. Nonetheless, great utility patient’s diagnostic therapeutic work-up. This article summarizes literature evidence on biopsy techniques, complications, technical precautions for safe effective sampling.
